Our_Lady_of_Guadalupe

In the Diocese of Youngstown Ohio they know the importance of the Patroness of North America.  Standing 50 feet in the air is a magnificant statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the grounds of the Servants of Mary Center for Peace.  A project of Deacon Ed Heinz, this statue attracts families, individuals and group who seek refuge in God.  What is truly amazing about this monument is that it was constructed totally by volunteers and is built with nearly half a million mosaic tiles.   What may seem to be an unlikely spot for Our Blessed Mother is another chance for Our Lady to evangelize a nation, indeed, a continent, needing spiritual guidance and protection from a world drawn to secularlization.

According to the website, Deacon Ed related, “The Servants of Mary Center for Peace is more”grassroots” Catholic. Our desire is to provide a holy and peaceful environment where God’s people can learn more about their faith and share in the fellowship of the Body of Christ”.  The website for the Center is located at www.servantsofmary.org.  One the website you can find the location and other information concerning the project.
